What a crazy crazy month! I went to Mexico for a vacation and had a blast meeting up with my family to soak up the sun and relax. Nick got a job in Oakland and as I write this we are driving across the country to look for an apartment. Tryin’ to catch every geo-tag on SnapChat along the way is keeping me occupied on the 40+ hour drive!

This month I did a lot of masks and scrubs as per usual, but also have a new sunscreen favorite and some new habits I am loving. Check em’ out below and let me know what you are thinking.

Radiantly You Deodorant:

Sadly, my beloved Schmidt’s deodorant stick irritated my armpits because of the baking soda in it. I normally struggle with non-baking soda based deodorants because I don’t find them strong enough to battle sweat and stank. This Radiantly You deodorant is awesome though! It contains bentonite clay which helps take the place of baking soda in neutralizing odor and battling bacteria. It also helps to draw toxins out and detox so it is the perfect deodorant for a first time user. The formula is thinner than most natural deodorants, but not so oily that it will ruin shirts like some! The scent is peppermint and tea tree based and so lovely. Definitely my new favorite deodorant right now!

Thirteen Organics Face Scrub and Mask

I love love love this face scrub! Rachel from Lavender Leaf talked about this scrub a few weeks ago and has been raving about it ever sense and rightfully so! I love that I can use it as a scrub to exfoliate my face and then leave it on for a couple minutes to pull out more toxins. The scrub is creamy unlike a lot of oily scrubs and my pores are so much tighter and cleaner after using it. It is my coveted scrub – I don’t share this one with Nick 🙂 (See a full review of Thirteen Organics here).

Tropical Sands SPF 30 Facestick

This face stick is a mineral sunscreen formula that is also biodegradable so that it does not harm the coral reefs when you wear it in the water. It does not leave my face with obvious zinc oxide whiteness or make it oily. I will be wearing this all summer long at the beach. More to come on my favorite sunscreens and why biodegradable and mineral sunscreens are so important.

Live Inspired Organics Scrub

If you read my review on this brand then you know I am obsessed with this scrub! The smell, the feel, everything about it! It’s “scrub-didly-umpcious.”

After using this scrub I could not stop feeling my skin! No joke. As a sugar scrub addict that is saying a lot. The scent of this product has a lot to do with why I love it so much. I am not kidding – close your eyes while using it and you will feel like you are on a caribbean beach sipping a cocktail as relaxed as can be. Then afterwards your skin is left silk smooth and SUPER moisturized. This scrub is one of the most moisturizing that I have used without feeling oily as well. Mad props on this one, Gina!

Washi Tape

I am so late to the Washi Tape Fan Group, I know! But I can’t stop sticking this stuff everywhere. I am loving it in my planner to mark important dates and trips – especially useful with the move coming up. This is a great non-expensive way to feel organized (I have found most of my tapes in the dollar section at Target!).

Journaling

I started journaling every night following a schedule of prompts to get me in the habit of journaling. I also decided that I will also write one thing that was the highlight of my day each night before bed. This has really helped me reflect on my day and find the awesome things that happened even if it was a pretty uneventful day. Journaling each night has been a great way to unwind from the day and I have enjoyed adding it to my routine.

  1. Oh yay that sunscreen looks great! It seems like it can be so difficult to find a natural sunscreen that doesn’t leave a white cast. I’ll have to pick this one up!
