Angel Face Botanicals Review Part 1

I noticed that I haven’t been  reviewing a ton of skin care for you guys and I wanted to change that. I think the reason I have been hesitant is because of how finicky my skin can be. Just this weekend I used what seemed to be a simple formula, natural, high end exfoliating mask. I woke up 1) not really feeling a difference in how soft my skin was and 2) with GIANT pimples on my forehead. I am STILL trying to do damage control, and it aint pretty.

BUT – I had used Angel Face Botanicals bath salts before I went I went online to discover more of their products, their skincare seemed totally up my alley. Basic formulas, no coconut oil or frills. I was in need of a few new items so I figured, what the heck I’d give it a try. Shelby at Angel Face Botanicals was so sweet and got me set up with some products suitable for my skin.

Such crazy thought and care has gone into the ingredients in these products and you can really tell – just read the product descriptions or ingredients lists on their site and you will see what I mean!

I have to say, I wish I would have ripped the bandaid and stopped being so nervous about branching out in my skincare routine sooner. A few of these products have been game changers for my skin, and the others are standout. I have been trying them for a while and have so much to say about them (in the best of ways!) which is why this is a two part review.  Read on to find out more.

Rose Crystal – Rosewater Facial Toner:

I was really not much of a toner person for the longest time. I always found them to dry me out or make my face really sticky. Rosewater seems to be my friend though. Each night I spray this on my face after washing it but before any serums or creams. It smells so divine it is such a treat to spritz it. If I accidentally forget, I get pretty bummed not gonna lie (#beautyjunkieproblems). I have found that it really does feel like my serums are absorbing into my face more when I use the toner. This baby has got me toner converted! I’m definitely also going to try the Lavender Aloe Vera toner next – it sounds heavenly for hyperpigmentation.

Why Rosewater? Rosewater is great for anti-aging, smoothing skin tone, healing inflammation, is an antioxidant, has astringent properties, and the scent is said to boost mood. Hello can I bathe in you? Mixed the pomegranate and rooibos this baby is packed with anti-oxidants.

Complete Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (organic aloe) leaf juice, Aspalathus lineans (organic rooibos tea) extract, Rosa damascena (rose) distillate, Punica granatum (organic pomegranate) extract, deionized water (gem elixir of rose quartz), organic vegetable glycerin, Rosa damascena (rose) flower oil, Pelargronium graveolens (rose geranium) flower oil, Pogostemon cablin (patchouli) oil, Citrus sinensis dulcis (organic orange) peel oil, Cymbopogon martini (palmarosa) oil, polysorbate, citric acid, infused with Reiki & lots of love!!

Lavender – Oil-Free Clearing Serum:

Holy. Guacamole. This stuff will never leave my routine ever again. It has been a royal game changer. If you have problem skin that is both trying to heal hyperpigmentation, soothe active breakouts, and prevent future breakouts, this is your JAM! I use this every night before bed and I wake up really noticing a difference in my skin. Let me tell you, for $24.00 this hidden gem is a STEAL. Forget your $150 dollar serums. Angel Face Botanicals is bringing the same quality at a way more affordable price with similar (better) results. Can you tell I’m hooked? Should I run an informercial?

Lavender is amazing for renewing the skins cells and calming irritation. The scent is also super relaxing which is why I love to use it before bed.  Aloe Vera is included for its soothing and antibacterial properties (another wonder-ingredient!) But I think it is the MSM that has been the real game changer here:

MSM is a naturally occurring sulfur compound found in plants, meats, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables that contributes to healthy skin. MSM is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. It feeds the formation of collagen and elastin and discourages the formation of wrinkles and scar tissue.

Complete Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (organic aloe) leaf juice, Aspalathus linearis (organic rooibos) extract, Lavendula angustifolia (organic lavender) distillate, DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol), glyceryl caprylate, emulsifying wax, Camellia sinesis (organic green tea) extract, organic vegetable glycerin, Lavandula angustifolia (organic lavender) extract, Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel), Lavandula angustifolia (organic lavender) essential oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), niacinamide (vitamin B3), MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), Salix nigra (organic black willowbark) extract, xanthan gum (polysaccharide gum), infused with Reiki & lots of love!

Chamomile Exquisite Cream:

I’ll be honest I have not used this cream as much as I have used the Lavender serum because the serum and toner together create enough moisture for my skin at night. BUT when I do want an extra kick – this on top of those two does wonders. It is mid-weight so not so light that it feels more like a serum than a cream and not so heavy that I cannot put makeup on over it. I am really excited to see this cream in action when I move out west to the drier air, and in the winter months!

The benefits for chamomile on the skin are similar to the benefits for drinking chamomile tea – it is soothing. Acne, rosacea, psoriasis – any irritation of the skin that needs healing and calming, chamomile does wonders.

Complete Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (organic aloe) juice, Rosa damascena (rose) distillate, Persea americana (avocado) oil, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, emulsifying wax NF, organic vegetable glycerin, Elaesis sp. (organic palm) oil, palm stearic acid, tocopherol (vitamin E), phenoxyethanol, retinol palmitate (vitamin A), Rosa mosqueta (rosehip) oil, ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C ester), dl-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), allantoin (comfrey), xanthan gum (polysaccharide gum), Argania spinsosa (organic argan) oil, Daucus carota (carrot seed) oil, Salix alba (organic willow bark) extract, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, Azadirachta indica (organic neem) oil, tetrasodium edta, citric acid, Matricaria recutita (German chamomile) essential oil, Anthemis nobilis (Roman chamomile) essential oil, Boswellia carterii (frankincense) essential oil, Calendula officinalis (calendula) essential oil, Helichrysum italicum (helichrysum) flower oil, infused with Reiki & lots of love!

Check back tomorrow for Part 2. I’ll review the most amazing exfoliating mask, another serum that I use in the AM, and Angel Face Botanical’s pampering bath salts.
